This Cookie Policy explains how Book with Hadey, the travel booking service of Hadey Travels Global (operated by Hadey Global Services Limited), uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data. By continuing to use our site, you agree to our use of cookies as described below, except where your consent is required and you have chosen otherwise.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time, so you do not have to re-enter them each time you return or move between pages. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage, which work in a comparable way. In this policy, we refer to all of these simply as “cookies”.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the site secure, to remember your choices (such as your language, currency and light or dark theme), to keep you signed in, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and to process your bookings and payments safely. We do not use cookies to collect more information than we need, and we never sell the information cookies collect.
3. The categories of cookies we use
a. Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the website to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. They include cookies that keep you signed in to your account, remember the items in a booking, protect against fraud and cross-site request forgery, and support the secure payment process. Without these cookies, parts of the site such as sign-in and checkout will not function.
b. Preference (functional) cookies
These remember the choices you make so the site feels personal and consistent across the Hadey Travels Global family of sites. They include your selected language (English or French), your display currency (for example NGN, USD or GBP), and your light or dark theme. These preferences are shared across our sites using a cookie set on the hadeytravelsglobal.com domain so your choices follow you.
c. Analytics (performance) cookies
These help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are visited, how people arrive, and where they run into difficulty — so we can improve the experience. We use Google Analytics for this. The information is aggregated and used for reporting; we configure it so it does not identify you personally to us.
d. Payment and third-party cookies
When you make a payment, our payment partners — Flutterwave and Stripe — may set their own cookies to process the transaction securely and to detect fraud. Embedded content such as a Google Maps location may also set cookies. These cookies are controlled by those third parties and are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
4. Examples of cookies and storage we use
- Sign-in / session — keeps you securely logged in to your account and protects forms (strictly necessary; kept for your session or until you sign out).
- htg-locale — remembers whether you chose English or French (preference; up to 12 months).
- htg_currency — remembers the currency you want to see and pay in (preference; stored on your device).
- htg-theme — remembers your light or dark mode choice (preference; up to 12 months).
- Personalisation key — a random identifier that lets us show destinations relevant to your recent searches (preference; stored on your device).
- _ga, _ga_*, _gid — Google Analytics cookies used to measure and improve the site (analytics; up to 24 months).
- Flutterwave / Stripe cookies — set by our payment partners during checkout to process payments securely (third-party; duration set by the provider).
The exact cookies present can vary depending on the pages you visit and the features you use.
5. How to manage or refuse cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, block cookies from some or all sites, and delete cookies already saved. To do this, look in the settings or preferences menu of your browser, or visit its help pages. On mobile devices, cookie controls are usually found in the browser or device settings.
Please note that strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off without affecting how the site works: if you block them, you may not be able to sign in or complete a booking. If you disable preference cookies, the site will still work, but it will not remember your language, currency or theme between visits. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing Google’s browser add-on.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
7. Contact us
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please contact us at bookings@hadeytravelsglobal.com, or write to Hadey Travels Global, Elebu Main Road, along Health Centre, Oluyole, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
